The Trojans have name recognition after ending last season ranked No. 5 in the D-IV poll.
This season, the Trojans are 9-0 and lead the Ohio Heritage Conference (6-0).
Southeastern travels to Kenton Ridge (6-1) tonight.
• Yellow Springs (5-0) was ranked 17th in D-IV.
The Bulldogs are undefeated (5-0) and have the area’s highest-scoring offense (75.8 points per game).
Yellow Springs is tied with Emmanuel Christian for the Metro Buckeye Conference lead. The Bulldogs haven’t played since beating Xenia Christian on Dec. 18.
Several teams from southwest Ohio were ranked in the D-IV poll —Russia (7-2, tied for fourth), Dayton Jefferson (6-2, seventh) and Cincinnati Seven Hills (11th).
• Graham was ranked 15th in the D-II poll.
Like the Trojans, Graham was the 2009 Division II state poll champs, and have name recognition. Graham is 8-1 after beating Urbana 55-52 in overtime last week.
The Falcons allow 41.7 points per game, the lowest in the 12-team Central Buckeye Conference and the Springfield area. They are in first place in the CBC Mad River Division.
• Greeneview (7-1) was ranked 15th in D-III.
The Rams are second in the OHC and lead the conference in points scored (65.8) and allowed (45.7).
Make-up date
Kenton Ridge will play Tippecanoe on Jan. 30 in Tipp City, with a varsity start of 7:30 p.m.
The game was postponed last week due to the weather.
Holiday stats
The News-Sun will accept varsity boys basketball stats on Tuesday, Jan. 19, until 4 p.m.
