OHSAA to address petition to split

The Ohio High School Athletic Association will address a petition to create separate state championships for public and private schools following its monthly board meeting on Thursday.

If approved, member school principals would likely vote next spring to split or not. A petition to vote — consisting of principal signatures throughout each school district in Ohio — was presented by Triway Local School District superintendent David Rice to the OHSAA late last week.
