In doubles, Oakwood’s Anne Connelly and Jackie White defeated Mary Haley and Brooke Sandridge of Chaminade Julienne for the championship. In the third-place match, Megan Connelly and Annie Lutz defeated Alter’s Emilee Wireman and Kelli Davis.
Overall, Oakwood and Alter captured six of the eight available district spots from Centerville.
In D-I singles play at the Centerville sectional, Amina Ismail from King’s defeated Beavercreek’s Amy Ostrow in two sets. Fairmont’s Allison Bendel beat Lindsay Holcombe of Centerville for third place.
In doubles, Springboro’s Aundrea Busse and Julie Brockman defeated teammates Allison Davis and Caitlin Riddle for the championship. Gina Roesch and Maddy Holthaus of Centerville defeated Lebanon’s Maddie Collins and Alyssa Carroll in the third-place match.
In D-I action sectional play at Troy, Tecumseh’s Taylor Culbertson defeated Manisha Nezhad of Springfield in the singles championship. Springfield’s Nicole Pavlatos defeated Amber Smith of Troy. In doubles, Vanessa Burke and Cheyenne Rogers of Vandalia Butler beat Ivy Smith and Hailey Winblad of Troy in the championship. Maddi Blackwell and Katelin Bourquin of Wayne defeated teammates Edith Chu and Lacey Ross for third.
In D-II at Troy, Tippecanoe’s Sierra Nellessen beat Kenzie Detrick of Springfield Shawnee in the championship, and Lauren Davy of Northeastern defeated Meghan Bennett of Lehman Catholic. In doubles, Lehman Catholic’s Nicole Larger and Kandis Sargeant defeated Milton-Union’s Andrea Fetters and Jessie Finfrock. Brooke Falb and Jesica Ferguson of Milton-Union beat Catholic Central’s Renae Pavlatos and Breanna McCombs.
All of these girls advance to district play, which starts Thursday. Division I is at Centerville and D-II will be at the ATP Tennis Center in Mason.
