Winneberg, Kenton Ridge run over Ben Logan, 49-26

Running back Max Winneberg had a career-high 299 yards and four touchdowns as Kenton Ridge defeated Benjamin Logan, 49-26, in Saturday football.

Trailing 6-0, the Cougars scored 26 points in the second quarter on two Winnenberg scoring runs, a Jacob Rosales 20-yard fumble recovery and a Mitchell Schnedier 52-yard TD pass to Brandon Davis.

In the second half, Winnenberg had a 60-yard touchdown romp and Nathan Andorfer added three field goals as Kenton Ridge improved to 3-0.

Triad 46, Fairbanks 13: Trent McIntyre passed for 306 yards and three scores for the Cardinals (1-2).

Dixie 42, Northeastern 21: Drey Williams rushed for a season-high 119 yard and two TDs as the Jets (0-3) could not overcome 12 turnovers.

Waynesfield-Goshen 33, Mechanicsburg 32: Garrett Miller hit Lee Turner with the game-winning TD pass with 25 seconds left in the game.

Colin Vernon threw for 290 yards and three scores while Aeryton Erwin ran for 155 yards and two scores for the Indians (1-2).

Madison Plains 27, Southeastern 17: P.J. Banion had a touchdown pass and run for the Trojans (1-2).

Stebbins 27, Greenon 14: Andrew Stewart ran for three touchdowns as the Indians (1-2) broke a 21-game losing streak.

Anthony Colletti and Andrew Colletti ran for touchdowns for the Knights (1-2).

Boys Golf: Benjamin Logan edged Tecumseh by a stroke, 31-6-317 to win the Christoff Classic.

West Liberty-Salem’s Nick Sim was medalist with a 70.

Greenon’s Brandon Mamer and Tecumseh’s Casey Stafford were tied for sixth with scores of 76.

Shawnee’s Hunter Johnson was tied for 10th (78) while Tecumseh’s Patrick Snarr and Northwestern Kyle Glaser were tied for 14th (79).

Shawnee’s Clark Engle did not compete due to a case of tricep tendinitis.

Volleyball: Hayley Stoll had 14 kills and Sarah Dixon dished out 21 assists as Springfield (4-5) defeated Northwestern, (26-28, 25-18, 25-21) and Fairborn (25-19, 25-8).

• Greenon improved to 6-4 with wins over Emmanuel Christian (23-25, 25-21, 25-19), Mechanicsburg (25-20, 26-28, 26-24) and Stivers (25-5, 25-15). Taylor Burson had 18 kills, Emily Howell had 45 assists and Samantha Renner added 24 digs against the Lions and the Indians.

Cross Country: Megan Vogel finished third (19:10) as West Liberty Salem placed third at the Tiffin Carnival Division III race.

• Michael Tymoski finished second (16:43) as Shawnee finished fourth at the Mason Invitational Section I race. Emmanuel Christian’s Micah Bragg was ninth (17:59) in the Section II race.

Northwestern’s Morghan Townsend was 10th (22:09) and Kristin Looney was 11th (22:14) as the Warriors finished second in the Section II girls race.
