Ohio State and Nike officially unveiled throwback uniforms the Buckeyes plan to wear Saturday night against Nebraska.

The jerseys are scarlet with gray stripes and white numbers, and the pants and helmets appear to be gray.

They are intended to pay tribute to what was worn by the 1916 Buckeyes, who were the first Big Ten (then Western Conference) champions in school history.

“Music and cannon fire” on the tag refers to a quote famed writer James Thurber gave to describe the running style of Chic Harley, the star of the 1916 Buckeyes.
