Greenon’s high-octane offense was impressive the first three weeks of the season. Junior quarterback Cade Rice had the Knights averaging 55 points a game in a 3-0 start and they put up 42 more last Friday night against Fairbanks.
The only problem was, the 1-2 Panthers put up 48 points in a 48-42 win at Greenon.

The Knights will need to be better this week as they face their toughest test of the season at 4-0 Mechanicsburg. The Indians are averaging 42 points a game, but their last three wins have come against teams with a combined 0-12 record.

Nothing Rosy in Huber Heights
Roosevelt Mukes has played a big role in a lot of wins as a player and long-time assistant coach at Wayne, but that first win as the Warriors head coach has been tough to come by.
Wayne suffered its worst loss of the season Friday when unbeaten Springboro rolled to a 42-27 win. It’s the second straight game the Warriors defense has allowed 40 points or more.
Junior quarterback Cam Fancher has thrown for nearly 1,000 yards in four games, but only two of those passes have gone for touchdowns and he’s been intercepted four times.
Mukes and company head out on the road this week to face another group of Warriors. Lebanon is 3-1 with three wins in a row.
Close doesn’t count for the Firebirds
Fairmont and Wayne each have an argument for the title of the “best” 0-4 team in the Miami Valley.
The Firebirds have been within a touchdown in the fourth quarter in every game they’ve played.
Last week they trailed Trotwood by two points at home with less than three minutes to play and ended up losing 24-15.
