Report: Former Middletown, OSU standout suspended by the NFL

Jalin Marshall, who was released by the Oakland Raiders only days after signing, has been suspended by the NFL for the first four games of this season, according to reports.

Marshall signed with the Raiders in May, then was cut two days later.

The 23-year-old who starred at Middletown High School and Ohio State recently signed with the Canadian Football League’s Hamilton Tiger Cats.

Before the Alliance of American Football folded, he played with the Orlando Apollos and scored the league’s first touchdown. Prior to taking the opportunity with the Apollos, Marshall was preparing to return to school at Ohio State, where he still plans to finish a degree in journalism, he said.

He last played with the New York Jets during the 2016 season. In 10 games, he caught 14 passes for 162 yards and two scores.
