Flyers finishing up spring football practice

If you’re going to compete for championships you have to have a veteran quarterback. Rick Chamberlain can check that box as his Flyers get ready to wrap up spring practice on Sunday. Alex Jeske is set to be the starting QB for the third year in a row.

Jeske rolled up more than 27-hundred total yards last season. He threw 15 touchdown passes and found the end zone 14 times with his legs.

“He just keeps improving every time that he’s out here,” Chamberlin said. “His first year he was a good quarterback, last year he was a very good quarterback and this year he’s even better.”

The question marks come on both sides of the line for the Flyers. Dayton graduated some experience offensive and defensive linemen and now it’s up to some sophomores and juniors to take over.

The spring game is set for Sunday at 1pm at Welcome Stadium and admission is free. Dayton opens the season September 2 at Robert Morris. The Flyers are home the following Saturday against Southeast Missouri.
