Mark Alstork, the former Wright State guard looking for a new home via graduate transfer, is almost ready to put his latest round of recruiting behind him.

“It’s tough,” said the Thurgood Marshall grad Monday night. “It’s one of the biggest decisions of my life.”

He’s set to choose Wednesday from a final four of South Carolina, LSU, Illinois and Pittsburgh.

“A part of me wishes I could go to each one of these last four schools,” he said. “I met some fantastic coaches, fantastic staffs – the places that I visited were big time, so I’m just blessed.”

He spoke to CMG Ohio on Monday night in Kettering before accepting the Dayton Agonis Club’s Dr. Dave Reese Memorial Award for outstanding Wright State athlete.

The 6-foot-5 guard was WSU’s leading scorer (19.0 points per game) and only two players in the Horizon League averaged more last season. He also finished in the top 10 of the HL in assists (3.5), free-throw percentage (84.6 percent) and 3-pointers per game (2.1).

After scoring 1,024 points in a WSU uniform, he entered the NBA draft but confirmed he will withdraw and play one more year of college basketball.
