Dwyane Wade has long been praised for his selflessness, including when he and LeBron James teamed up in Miami.
Less than a week into his Cavs career, Wade volunteered to come off the bench. And he will.
Dwyane Wade said that he felt it was time for him to come off the bench and run the second unit. Basically said, why wait? #Cavs pic.twitter.com/tjTiCVMMTj

Cavs coach Ty Lue confirmed Wade approached him with the idea. J.R. Smith will be reinserted into the starting five.
In Wade’s 14-year career, he’s come off the bench 11 times. It’s fair to expect an adjustment period.
Regardless, the Cavs have backcourt issues defensively. Derrick Rose, Kyle Korver, Smith and Wade is troubling on that end. Isaiah Thomas, whenever he returns (likely January), is one of the worst defensive guards in the league and won’t be much help.
But for now, perhaps Wade can give the Cavs a boost running the second unit. Good news for Cleveland is it has plenty of time to tinker with lineups throughout the regular season.
