Dayton welcomes 10 millionth fan to UD Arena

Janis Gudorf, of Tipp City, wins the honor

Janis Gudorf has been attending Dayton Flyers games since the 1960s. That’s just what you do when grow up in Dayton, she said. She had an idea she might have a chance to be the 10 millionth fan Sunday but was excited to receive the honor.

UD randomly selected Gudorf, of Tipp City, before a game against Richmond. She was approximately the 380th fan to enter the doors before a game against Richmond. Dayton is the 11th men's basketball program in the country to reach the milestone.

“Although we’re not season-ticket holders, we are big fans,” Gudorf said. “I asked the lady who was scanning the ticket if I was the person, and she was laughing and said, ‘Hold on a minute.’ The next thing I know I’m the 10 millionth fan, and it’s wonderful.”

Gudorf had her seat upgraded to club seats on press row. Her husband Mark and Dale and Rose Marchal joined them in the upgraded seats. She also received a prize package, including:

• Large commemorative ticket autographed by men’s team.

• Media guide
• Miami valley gaming restaurant gift certificate
• Dayton Marriott restaurant gift certificate
• One year of free car washes at Mike's Car Wash.
