Dayton Flyers set UD Arena attendance record in win over VCU

As Dayton took down VCU 79-72 on Wednesday night, a sellout crowd of 13,455 was announced, officially setting a single-season attendance record at UD Arena.

The Atlantic 10 champion Flyers drew an average of 13,018 fans in 2016-17.

The previous record (12,982) was set in 1969-70, the first season the arena was open.

Dayton ranked 25th in the nation in attendance last season and has been in the top 30 for 19 consecutive seasons.

Prior to moving into UD Arena, the Flyers played at the UD Fieldhouse, which had a capacity of less than 6,000.
