Cubs, Schwarber re-create Middletown High School choir performance

The Chicago Cubs and Kyle Schwarber are having fun.

Schwarber, a Middletown High school grad, and some of his teammates recreated the slugger's 2011 performance as a member of the Purple Pizzazz, the high school's show choir.

The Cubs posted the video to their Twitter account.

Schwarber has been the story of the World Series vs. the Indians. The left-handed slugger returned to action for Games 1 and 2 after not playing all season due to a knee injury. He’s hitting .429 (3-for-7) and went 2-for-3 with two RBIs in the Cubs’ win in Game 2.

Because he was not medically cleared to play in the field, Schwarber will be limited to pinch-hit duty for Games 3, 4 and 5 in Chicago. The series, which is tied at 1-1, resumes at 8 p.m. Friday.

The Cubs have not won the World Series in 108 years.
