UD selling tickets for A-10 tourney home game

The University of Dayton will begin selling tickets at 10 a.m. today for a potential first-round home game on Tuesday in the Atlantic 10 men’s basketball tournament.

UD still doesn’t know for certain whether it will be hosting a league tourney game, and the school would offer refunds if the Flyers play elsewhere. The opponent wouldn’t be determined until after Saturday’s games.

Lower-arena seats cost $22. Tickets are $17 in the 300 level and $12 in the 400 level. Parking is free.

Season ticket-holders will have until Monday at 2 p.m. to reserve their seats. Unclaimed tickets will go on sale to the public after that.

Tickets can be purchased at UD Arena or online at DaytonFlyers.com. Season-ticket holders are encouraged to access the account manager online and print their tickets.

There will be no sales Saturday when the Flyers host George Washington in the regular-season finale. A crowd in excess of 13,000 is expected, and UD said organizing separate sales would be too difficult.

Season-ticket holders also received a mailing this week for 2013 NCAA tournament First Four and second- and third-round games. Tickets for all 10 games cost between $315 and $265, depending on the seat.

The NCAA requires schools to start selling tourney tickets a year in advance. UD is believed to be the only venue giving season-ticket holders first crack at acquiring seats. Public sales will begin in October. DOUG HARRIS, Staff writer
