Recruit who criticized Urban Meyer, Buckeyes apologizes

University of Kentucky recruit Landon Young apologized to Ohio State coach Urban Meyer on Wednesday after he told seccountry.com that the Buckeyes coach "treated me like crap" during the recruiting process.

On his Twitter account, the 6-foot-7, 270-pound lineman from Lexington, Ky. said:

‘The quotes that were attributed to me in an article last week were mistaken and in no way reflect my feelings toward coach Urban Meyer and the Ohio State program.”

Meyer addressed Young's comments after Tuesday's spring practice.

“We have a lot of respect for him as a player,” Meyer said Tuesday. “I was very disappointed in our staff we didn’t offer him (a scholarship) earlier. About that treatment thing, we didn’t do that on purpose. I went back and talked to our staff. I don’t want that be out there.”
