UD men’s soccer stuns No. 11 Charlotte

DAYTON — The University of Dayton men’s soccer team celebrated Senior Night with a 3-0 victory over No. 11 Charlotte at Baujan Field on Friday, Oct. 30.

The Flyers recognized 11 seniors prior to the match and then dominated the 49ers. Seniors played a part in all three goals; Alex Torda, Isaac Kissi and Peter Chilemena scored, and Ryan Handbury dished out two assists. Senior Sonny Renner also had an assist.

Charlotte is the highest-ranked Division I opponent the Flyers have beaten in Dennis Courier’s 17 seasons as head coach. It was the seventh shutout of the season for UD, now 10-4-1 overall and 5-1-0 in Atlantic 10 play.

The Flyers, 6-1 at home this season, welcome Saint Louis for a key A-10 match at 1 p.m. Sunday.
