Ohio State Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer inspired by Cavs

Ohio State Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer addressed a group of his players Monday, a day after the Cleveland Cavaliers won the NBA championship.

Meyer is a Cavs fan. He has been spotted in the front row at games. He has invited the Cavs’ LeBron James to stand on the sideline for Ohio State games. After the Cavs beat the Warriors in Game 7, he wrote on Twitter, “History before our very eyes. Thanks u Cavs!!!”

In a video posted to the Ohio State football Twitter account, Meyer told the players, “Why do we do what we do: win championships. And how do we do that? Nine (units) strong. … If you don’t get a tear in your eye watching (the Cavs) … you have to look in the face of some of these athletes that gave their life to their teammates. That’s what I saw. I saw a guy back up what he said. I saw Kyrie (Irving) and those guys, God bless them did, they play hard. I know you can say, ‘I’m not a Cavs guy,’ but get something out of that. I know what I got out of it. I can’t wait to do that again with a group of players.
