Boomer Esiason connects Bengals, 9/11 with powerful image

With the 15th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks approaching, this figures to be a big week for nostalgia.

That’s especially true when it comes to local NFL coverage with the Bengals set to open the season in New York (close enough) against the Jets.

Boomer Esiason, a former Bengal who has spent most of his post-NFL career working in the media in the Big Apple, provided a powerful image Tuesday of the wreckage in New York City.

Tough to imagine a more appropriate (localized, sports-related) reminder of how the 9/11 tragedy touched so many and reached so far.
