Burfict draws penalty on Ravens WR with comedic flop

On the five-year anniversary of one of the great flops in Cincinnati Bengals history, linebacker Vontaze Burfict got away with another one.

After giving Steve Smith Sr. an extra shove as he tumbled to the ground, Burfict stood over the Baltimore wide receiver as he tried to get up. When Smith’s head grazed Burfict’s chest, the linebacker went flying backward and drew a 15-yard unnecessary roughness penalty on Smith.

Unnecessary roughness penalties are usually accompanied by a fine, but it would be surprising if the league docks Smith for this one.
