Oregon District restaurant extends hours with ‘speakeasy vibe’

An Oregon District restaurant is extending its hours and mixing things up behind the bar.

Salar Restaurant and Lounge, 400 E Fifth St., just announced that its main bar will now remain open until midnight Friday and Saturday.

Margot Blondet, a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu in Lima, Peru, opened Salar in 2013 at the former site of Sidebar.

It reopened in fall of 2018 after it and a half-dozen other  businesses closed when they received major smoke and/or fire damage during a blaze early Friday, Dec. 29, 2017.
