One of the University of Dayton area’s most crave-worthy eateries just expanded its delivery area in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
“We have expanded our delivery areas to over 5 miles from Brown Street,” Dain Peters, the owner of Pita Pit Dayton, said. “We are offering delivery, pickup and curbside carryout.”
After much hype, Peters opened Dayton’s first Pita Pit at 1047 Brown St. near UD and Miami Valley Hospital.
The restaurant’s current hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
The delivery zone was expanded a little over a week ago.
“Things have been picking up the last week, but still (are) nowhere near where we were the first of March. I’m hoping the community can continue to support us,” Peters told this news organization.
Popular in college towns, Pita Pit’s menu includes Dagwood, gyro, souvlaki, Philly, Baja chicken bacon ranch, chicken pesto, Boom Boom Black Bean and vegan hummus pita sandwiches.
Peters’ franchise offers its own contact-free delivery service as well as DoorDash and Grubhub.
Customers can order through pitapitusa.com, the Pita Pit app or by calling 937-723-6884.
