KLYS, Adam J.

Age 85, of Centerville, Ohio, died peacefully at home on January 7, 2021. Adam was born in Krakow, Poland on January 12, 1935. He came to the United States in June 1946. He graduated from University of Dayton in June 1958. Adam proudly served in the US Army for 21 years. He retired from active duty with the rank of Major in August 1979. While serving his country he saw duty in Europe as well as Vietnam. In Vietnam, he served with the US Army Special Forces (Green Berets) and the 173rd Airborne Brigade. Former brothers in arms say "He was a great guy, but also a great leader. We would have followed him anywhere." After retiring from active duty, he worked as Operations Director for the Dayton Mall for 21 years. Surviving is his devoted wife, Christa; daughter, Barbara and son-in-law, Donald Liebrecht; terrific grandchildren, Alexander & Paige (Pletzke) Liebrecht and Brian Liebrecht. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Church of the Incarnation, 7415 Far Hills Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will follow immediately beginning at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Centerville Cemetery. He was loved by all and will be truly missed.
