FIRST REPORT

A Wright-Patt military police cruiser was rear-ended this afternoon in Beavercreek.

The injury crash was reported just before 3 p.m. in the middle of the street near the Dave Dennis dealership in 4200 block of Colonel Glenn Highway, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Dayton Post.

The cruiser was struck by a Chevrolet Monte Carlo. There were injuries reported, but troopers said it wasn’t clear whether the officer was hurt. Tow trucks were en route for both vehicles.

“Yes, it was one of our security forces that was struck from behind,” said WPAFB media spokesman Bill Hancock. He was not able to release further details about whether the officer was injured because “it’s an ongoing investigation.”

The highway patrol is investigating the crash.
