Ex-teacher in sex case arrested again

A former Bellefontaine High School teacher who admitted to exchanging thousands of personal text messages with a student was arrested again Monday night after he violated a civil protection order of the victim.

Jason Stanford pleaded guilty to attempted illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material on Oct. 11, according to court records.

Police accused him of exchanging thousands of text messages of a “highly personal nature” with a 16-year-old student, according to reports. A charge of attempted sexual battery was dropped.

Police would not comment further on Monday night’s arrest. Stanford appeared in court Tuesday morning, where he posted bond and was released from jail.

Stanford resigned from his vocal music teacher position earlier this year.
