Today will be sunny and quite warm, with temperatures quickly rising into the upper 70s during the morning for a high near 81 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

While warm, these temperatures fall short of the record for Oct. 9, which the NWS records say was 86 degrees, set in 1939.

In the evening the NWS forecast some clouds gathering, then continuing to build overnight as temperatures fall to around 61 degrees.

On Saturday, we will continue to see some clouds as temperatures again rise to around 80 degrees.

Clouds will build even more through the day and through Saturday night, leading up to a chance of showers beginning in the early hours of Sunday morning as the remnants of hurricane Delta move into the area.

Overnight temperatures will fall to around 61 degrees.

Sunday, we will see a chance of showers all day, though chances will lessen slightly after night falls. Temperatures will be slightly cooler during the day with a high near 76 degrees, though overnight lows will be around the same level at around 60 degrees.
