FEIB Chief Josh Hobbs said that the cause of the fire is currently undetermined, though investigators are working to identify the fire's source. However, he added the large size of the fire would slow the process.

Wayne Township Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the fire first, and requested aid from Washington Fire Department, Concord-Green Fire Department and Pic-a-Fay Joint Fire District.

In all, 57 firefighters from nine departments responded to the scene.
