Springfield school board reelects Biles, Callan to top offices

Anita Biles has been reelected president of the Springfield school board.

Jamie Callan was reelected vice president of the board.

Biles and Callan were reelected during the board’s annual reorganization earlier this month.

Other board members include Carol Dunlap, Joan Elder and Chris Williams.

Biles term expires on Dec. 31, according to the district’s website.

She has served on the board for at least nine years, and is the Director of Health and Nutrition at Miami Valley Child Development Center, Inc.

Biles is a former Clark County Combined Health District health educator and public information officer. She has a bachelor’s degree in public health from Cumberland College and graduated from Dixie Heights High School.

Callan’s term expires on Dec. 31, 2023, the website stated.

He has served as a board member for the last 13 years and as a Springfield-Clark CTC board member for at least 10 years, where he has been president for at least five years.

Callan has been Chief Financial Officer of Valco Industries in Springfield for the last 40 years. He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Xavier University and a master’s degree in finance from Wright State University.

The school board will meet in 2021 at 6 p.m. on the following Thursdays: Jan. 28, Feb. 11, 25, March 11, 25, April 8, 22, May 13, 27, June 10, 24, July 8, Aug. 12, 26, Sept. 9, Oct. 14, 28, Nov. 11 and Dec. 9.

Meetings are held at the Clark Center, 1500 West Jefferson St., Springfield.
