Flames, heavy smoke pour from Springfield house

Flames were showing and heavy smoke was pouring Friday afternoon from a house in Springfield.

The Springfield Fire Division responded around 3:30 p.m. to the white two-story house at 822 Kenton St., which was believed to be vacant.

Kenton Street was blocked while firefighters were on scene.

It took about a half hour for crews to gain control of the fire.

No injuries were reported, and it was not immediately clear what started the fire.
