Sheriff’s office investigating assault involving Tecumseh teacher, student

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the assault of a 13-year-old student at Tecumseh Local Schools.

The sheriff’s office was called to Tecumseh Local Schools on Nov. 5 after a school district employee reported an assault, according to a sheriff’s office incident report. No injuries were reported.

Superintendent Paula Crew this week said the the district is investigating the incident, which was reported in a classroom between a middle school teacher and student.

The teacher is on paid administrative leave, which is typical when there are reports of an incident with a minor in the classroom. The district is at the beginning of the investigation process, and that all staff, personnel and students who were involved with or have knowledge of the situation will be interviewed, Crew said.
