Police are investigating after nearly $1,400 worth of items were stolen out of a vehicle in a Springfield hotel parking lot.

Police are investigating after nearly $1,400 worth of items were reported stolen out of a vehicle in a Springfield hotel parking lot.

Officers responded around 10 a.m. on Thursday to Comfort Suites, 121 Raydo Circle, in reference to a vehicle break in, according to a Springfield police report.

When police arrived, they spoke with the victim who said his 2020 GMC Sierra Pickup Truck was parked in the hotel lot when it was broken into.

“When he walked out to his vehicle, he discovered that the rear driver side window of the extended cab of the vehicle had been broken out,” the report said. “Upon checking inside the vehicle, he discovered that items were missing.”

According to the report, nearly $1,400 worth of items were stolen, including a KelTec rifle with a partially loaded mag, Vortex Optics binoculars, two Dewalt drills, five Dewalt 20V batteries, assorted hand tools, electronic temperature gauge and Timberland work boots.

No suspect or witness information was available.

Springfield police continue their investigation into this incident.
