Where did you grow up? Springfield

How long have you worked at Urbana South Elementary? This is my first year in Urbana. Most recently, I was a middle school assistant principal with Springfield City Schools. Prior to that, while in Xenia, I taught Reading Recovery and was also a literacy coach.

What's your favorite thing about the Urbana school community? I have a profound appreciation and respect for how hard the entire staff of the Urbana City School District works to uphold the tradition for excellence throughout our schools and the community!

Describe your teaching philosophy in 20 words or less: Kids come first! If children aren't learning, we have yet to find the right way(s) to teach them… M. Clay

What one word best describes you? Appreciative

What's your greatest achievement as a teacher and administrator so far? Having had the privilege to be a part of so many students' lives throughout my career.

What's your favorite thing about your job? By far and away, the students at South Elementary School! The staff however, is a really close second.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? I hope to be still working to positively impact children's lives.

What are your favorite hobbies? Cooking, yoga, and travel
