Veteran’s thoughts on Bergdahl

We sought readers’ opinions about U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, who now faces charges of desertion and misbehavior before the enemy:

Here’s what Dennis Singleton, one of our local veterans, has to say:

“The visual of this president arm and arm with the parents of Bowe Bergdahl in the Rose Garden while the father is speaking phrases in Arabic that terrorists use when killing innocents will always remind me of what poor judgment this president routinely uses.

“The administration characterized Bergdahl’s service as ‘honorable and distinguished.’ I did serve a year with Kilo 3/7 (3rd Battalion 7th Marines) in South Vietnam 46 years ago. You don’t have to be Audie Murphy to realize this whole situation is insane and Bergdahl should never see the light of day again.”
