Unemployment rates crept up in Clark and Champaign Counties in October according to information released today from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.

The unemployment rate was 4.4 percent in Clark County last month, up from 4.1 percent in September. Champaign County's unemployment rate was 3.7 percent in October, up from 3.6 percent the previous month.

Ohio’s unemployment rate was 4.6 percent in October, unchanged from September. The monthly county updates from the state aren’t adjusted to account for seasonal patterns that include summer hiring, major holidays and school schedules. The U.S. and state figures are adjusted for those factors.
