Three stolen trucks, two men, one ATM

Two men are wanted for crashing a stolen truck into a gas station and stealing an ATM.

The men first stole a grey and maroon Dodge pick-up truck from the Park Lane Sunoco, 2131 N. Dayton-Lakeview Road., New Carlisle, just after midnight Thursday, according to a Clark County Sheriff Deputy Gary Cox.

The men then used it to ram into Big Mike’s Gas and Go, 8561 Ohio 201, Tipp City, and steal the businesses ATM machine.

Miami County Sheriff Deputies believe the men ditched the Dodge truck on Palmer Road, took another truck a few houses away, drove a half a mile, and then stole a third truck.

The third vehicle, a green Dodge Dakota, was found by a man Thursday morning at 65 Quick Road in Clark County.

Deputies were able to see surveillance video of the men stealing the ATM and are looking for the two men.

Dave Closey, owner of the Park Lane Sunoco, said the stolen truck was an important part of his business and is anxious to get it back from the Miami County Sheriff’s Office.

He said he would lend it out to some customers and used it to pick up parts and supplies for the business.

“It hurts and its going to be a big expense,” Closey said. “I feel much worse for Big Mike’s because he has some serious damage to his building.”

Closey said the whole situation makes him sick and is frustrated these men targeted small businesses in the area.

“You know to hurt a small business man — it’s rough and that’s why there are so few of us left,’ he said.

Closey added that he would like to repair the truck because it has some sentimental value to him.

He bought it from the family of fellow Lion’s Club member, who Closey considered a mentor, after his death and has been maintaining it for more than 20 years.
