1. South Vienna Corn Festival: This annual community event is a favorite for the farm town of South Vienna. There are many vendors with crafts and goods of all kinds as well as an array of mouth-watering food. Fresh corn is abundant, and residents rave about the pork chops. 2. First Friday in Springfield: Hatch Artist Studios will host the premiere of a unique music video that was filmed in Springfield at the old Regent Theater. Considered a love song to Springfield, "Heart of Ohio (I am the City)" by Thaddeus Williams of The American Landscape will premiere at the Studios while the bands, Once a Pine and The Morgues will be playing beforehand. Free and open to the public, on Friday Sept. 7, music begins at 6:30 p.m., while the video premieres at 8:30. At Hatch Artist Studios, 105 N. Center St., Springfield.

3. St. Paris Pony Wagon Days: Food, crafts, music, vendors and rides along with a Saturday car show and live performances are all part of this annual St. Paris festival. A great free event for families and children, the festival is held on Friday and Saturday at 370 East Main Street in Saint Paris. More information can be found on their website: Pony Wagon Days

4. Simon Kenton Pathfinders Bike Ride Fundraiser: The Simon Kenton Pathfinders is a bike-riding group responsible for the development of a shared-use bike path that now runs through Champaign and Clark Counties. Every year, the bike ride raises money to continue to grow the path. The bike ride is on Sunday, Sept. 9th. Open to the public, registration fee applies. 5. Festival Latino: A yearly one-day function in Springfield, the Festival Latino features traditional Latin dancing, a dancing horse show, food, music, and gambling. Hosted by the St. Teresa's Hispanic Ministry at the church, 1827 N. Limestone St. Free and open to the public, Sat., Sept. 8 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
