Students study diverse topics at science fair

SPRINGFIELD — Students at Springfield High School presented projects on topics ranging from exercise science to algae growth during an annual science fair at Springfield High School Wednesday, Jan. 26.

Rachel Sanders, a science teacher who judges the fair each year, said about 240 students took part in the event, their largest number so far.

Sanders said the fair provides a chance for students to show off their interviewing skills, and to learn about topics they might study further in the future.

“Overall, it’s a great way for the teachers to see the students in a more professional manner,” Sanders said.

Winners will move on to the county competition in February.
