Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a federal holiday celebrating the birthday of Martin Luther King Jr. and highlighting his legacy in civil rights.

King’s birthday is Jan. 15, but it is observed on the third Monday of January each year.

Most government offices and services in Springfield and Clark County are closed today.

Federal Offices

All federal offices are closed.

City Offices

All Springfield City offices are closed.

County Offices

All Clark County offices are closed.

Courts

Clark County courts are closed.

Health District

The Clark County Combined Health District is closed.

Senior Services

United Senior Services is closed.

Mail Services

The United States Postal Service is closed.

UPS and FedEx pickup and delivery services are operating.

Delivery of UPS SurePost and bulk mailings processed by UPS Mail Innovations will require one additional business day.

FedEx Express locations will have an early on-call and drop box pickups and some deliveries through FedEx SmartPost may be delayed.

Libraries

The Clark County Public Library is open during normal operating hours, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Banks

All banks are closed including Fifth Third Bank, Huntington Bank, Keybank, PNC Bank and Security National Bank locations.
