A Springfield man was arraigned Thursday morning in Clark County Municipal court on charges stemming from a child endangering incident.

Adam Miller, 39, pleaded not guilty to two counts of child endangering and one count of OVI, court records show. His bond was set at a total of $2,200.

Miller had two children, a six-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl in the vehicle with him when he was arrested, according to an affidavit filed in the case.

Officers were stationed in the 2100 block of East Main Street on Nov. 14, 2019 when they saw a 2004 Mitsubishi SUV make a right turn, travel left of center and almost hit a curb, according to the affidavit filed in the case.

The SUV then parked in the lot of Family Video, and a man who got out of the drivers side appeared to be “unsteady on his feet, nearly falling” while exiting the vehicle.

Officers ran the registration and found that Miller was wanted through the Clark County Sheriff’s Office for two counts of receiving stolen property, the affidavit says.

Police made contact with Miller who had a “strong odor of marijuana,” red, glossy eyes, dilated pupils, and was sluggish, the affidavit says. A woman passenger also seemed to be impaired and sluggish.

Officers also found the two children in the back seat of the SUV.

Miller was arrested for child endangering, OVI, left of center, driving under suspension, no operating license, and outstanding warrants, the affidavit says.

As of Friday, he was listed in the Clark County Jail.
