Springfield gets new addiction treatment center

A new addiction treatment center is open in Springfield.

BrightView, an outpatient treatment center, is operating at 201 N Yellow Springs St.

“We knew there was a community need here,” Dr. Shawn Ryan, president and chief medical officer said. “The team decided that this was the next best place to come. I’m very happy that we’ve been able to open and see success and do some good work for patients.”

Ryan said that the center focuses on the holistic view of the patient’s life and recovery, and treat them with the necessary medical, psychological, and social interventions.

The addiction treatment center accepts patients with significant substance abuse disorder, referrals from family or medical professionals, or patients who might just think they have a problem.

BrightView focuses more on the patient and evidence when treating addiction, according Ryan.

“What separates BrightView from the rest is that we focus on the biopsychological model,” Ryan said. “We focus on the science and focus on the patient. We always want to make sure that what we are doing is the best practice for our patients, so we constantly monitor them.”

Ryan said that people should not be afraid to speak up if they know or think they have an addiction, but instead seek help.
