Speedway will host hiring events in South Vienna today and Bellefontaine next week as it looks to fill numerous positions.
The company is looking to fill jobs in its stores that include customer service representatives, food service personnel, shift leader trainees and co-manager trainees.
In the meantime, the company is also continuing to make progress on plans to hire about 350 full-time workers by 2017 at its corporate headquarters in Enon, said Stefanie Griffith, a spokeswoman for the company.
Last year, Speedway announced a $2.8 billion acquisition of Hess Retail, an East Coast convenience store chain. As part of that deal, the company announced a $9.1 million expansion that included purchasing a new office building in Springfield and renovations at its current headquarters in Enon.
“As previously announced, these positions are in support of Speedway’s recent growth,” Griffith said.
The company will host a recruiting event from noon-4 p.m. today at the Speedway location at 213 N. Urbana St. in South Vienna.
Speedway will host a separate hiring event from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at a Speedway at 329 S. Main St. in Bellefontaine Wednesday. The company will also attend Wittenberg University’s Jobs and Internship fair Aug. 27, Griffith said.

Overall, the company is looking to hire as many as 500 workers throughout Central Ohio this spring in preparation for the upcoming summer travel season, according to information in the Columbus Dispatch.
