The Springfield Soup Kitchen has announced it will open as a warming center during the day through Wednesday, with frigid temperatures expected through the week.

The soup kitchen, located at 830 West Main Street, will be open as the warming center from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day for people without power, those who sleep in their cars, and the homeless, according to a representative with the soup kitchen.

Hepatitis A vaccinations will also be available Monday from 5 to 6 p.m. as the outbreak in Clark County and Ohio continues.

Cold temperatures are expected through the week, according to Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Jesse Maag. Wind chills will likely be around or below zero in the morning through Wednesday.
