Sheriff’s office: Dog acting aggressive shot and killed by deputy at Clark County home

A Clark County Sheriff’s Office deputy shot a dog that was acting aggressive and charged towards her at a Springfield Twp. home Tuesday, according to investigators.

The deputy went to a home near the 3400 block of Springfield-Xenia Road around 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, in relation to a followup call for another agency, investigators with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office said.

After attempting to talk to the people inside a neighboring home, a dog started running towards the deputy and was acting aggressive, officials said.

Two shots were fired by the deputy, striking the dog, which later died, investigators said.
