Services for Richard Kuss on Saturday

Funeral services for Springfield business and community leader Richard Kuss will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14 at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 201 N. Limestone St.

Kuss, who was 87, died in his sleep Sunday night or Monday morning, Aug. 9, in his Springfield home.

There will be no public visitation, however, the 10 a.m. service at the church as well as the burial services at Ferncliff Cemetery are open to the public. Littleton & Rue Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Kuss, whose name is on the auditorium of the downtown performing arts center and whose late wife’s name is on the science center at Wittenberg University has been called a pillar of the community by both local officials and community leaders and has been recognized by nearly every local agency and organizations at some time during his life.
