Schools closing, releasing early for hot weather

The hot weather is forcing at least one local school to close and several others to let students out early on Wednesday.

This week's heat wave is causing hot, sticky conditions in classrooms that don't have the benefit of air conditioning.

The following is a lit of heat-related closings and early releases for Wednesday.

The St. Luke School in Beavercreek is scheduled to be closed;

Four Fairborn City Schools will be released two hours early (this does not affect Fairborn High School);

Greenon Local Schools will release students two hours early;

Clark-Shawnee Local Schools will release students 90 minutes early;

Valley View Local Schools will be releasing students one hour, 45 minutes early.

Wednesday's forecast indicates temperatures will reach 90 with high humidity.
