The North Hampton Community Church, 100 Community Drive, will start a “Run for God” program at 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

Play Scrabble to help literacy center
The Altrusa International Club of Springfield will host its Scrabble Scramble for Literacy on March 17 at the Warder Literacy Center, 137 E. High St. Doors open at noon and games will begin at 1:15 p.m.
The fundraiser is an unsanctioned Scrabble event. The three categories of competition are a two-player team playing as one, a single adult and a single student.
The cost is $20 per person or $10 for students ages 10 to 25. Spectator fee is $10.

The Clark County Historical Society will host “A Cry For Justice” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. March 13 in the Crabill Discovery Hall at the Heritage Center of Clark County.
There will be a book signing and presentation by Dr. Gary Agee, author of “A Cry For Justice: Daniel Rudd and His Life in Black Catholicism, Journalism, and Activism.”

Frontiers International Inc., Springfield Chapter, along with the Coordinating Council, will honor community members at an appreciation luncheon scheduled for 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 10 at Quality Inn, 383 E. Leffel Lane.
The group will honor the Rev. Eli Williams, co-founder and director of Urban Light Ministries Inc., and the Christian Friendship Circle, a group of women from eight local churches and parishes.
