Program aims to help non-profit groups during quarantine

The Dayton Daily News, Springfield News-Sun and JournalNews are helping local non-profit agencies get fundraising and service information out to a wider audience during the coronavirus quarantine.

The newspapers are offering free quarter page ads to non-profit agencies. The program is part of the newspaper group’s efforts called ‘Uniting the Community.’

“Response has been overwhelmingly positive from non-profit agencies who need the promotion in a time when they are trying to help others while they are often struggling to pay for their operations,” said Emily Broughton, the marketing manager for the three newspapers.

“Our papers are working to help inform readers as well as to help lead our community through this crisis,” said Jana Collier, the publisher of the three papers. “Many of our local non-profit agencies are feeling a real strain on their services. We hope this program can help them get their messages out so they can focus on the important work they do.”
