In a statement posted to Twitter Friday morning, Colerain Twp. police announced metal objects “similar to razor blades” were found in some candy bars after Beggars Night.

“We want to stress the importance of parents checking their child’s candy for any signs of tampering,” police said in the tweet.

Police said they continue to investigate the reports but there was no indication if officers have any suspects.
In the Dayton-area, the Montgomery County Coroner's Office will provide free x-rays of Halloween candy today to check for tampering.
The event will be held at the Miami Valley Crime Lab, 361 West Third Street in Dayton, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Officials said an appointment is highly recommended, and to schedule an appointment you’re asked to call 937-225-4156.
