4 hit by car, including woman in wheelchair

Four pedestrians were hit by a car Saturday night, including a woman in a wheelchair.

Medics were called at around 8:45 p.m. to the 6500 block of Conway Drive, just west of Enon Road.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Springfield Post, Jason Brumfield, 25, of Enon was driving a silver Chevrolet Malibu east on Conway Drive, which was unlit, when he struck four people in the eastbound side of the road.

Jennifer G. Cirder, 21, of Enon was flown by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, after the medical helicopter landed in a nearby field off Grand Valley Drive. On Sunday, Cirder was not listed as a patient.

Christina L. Hofstetter, 20, of Enon, was taken to Soin Medical Center in Beavercreek, where she was not listed as a patient Sunday. Avery E. Brown, 19, and Joseph G. Spaulding, 21, both of Enon, were treated at the scene.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation, according to troopers. STAFF REPORT

Troopers: Man faces 8th OVI offense

A South Charleston man with seven prior OVI convictions has been charged for an eighth time for allegedly driving drunk, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Jack A. Spitler, 53, has a Sept. 25 pretrial hearing scheduled in Clark County Municipal Court after he earlier pleaded not guilty to a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Troopers arrested Spitler at 8:29 p.m. Aug. 24 after he was stopped for allegedly speeding on Leffel Lane near Selma Road. STAFF REPORT
