Kimberly A. McKinley, of 2344 N. Limestone St., was reportedly spotted by a Kroger security guard putting nine DVDs inside her purse, paying for other items and attempting to leave Kroger, 2989 Derr Road, without paying for the DVDs valued at more than $170, according to a police report.
McKinley, 50, told police she is bipolar and has been off her medicine for six weeks and that makes her act on impulses to steal, the police report said.
She was charged with theft and has been ordered to appear in court, the report said.
Trucking company targeted again
A B&D Transport Trucking employee reported Thursday that the business has been broken into twice this week.
The second break-in at the company at 1200 Warder St. occurred Thursday when employees discovered an unknown amount of heavy gauge copper wire and components missing from walls, ceilings and electrical wire, according to a police report.
The equipment is valued at $500, the police report said.
Police have no suspects.

A man in the 1400 block of Lagonda Avenue reported a stereo, chain saw and climbing gear, valued at $1,190, stolen from a car between 12:01 and 7:10 a.m. Wednesday.
A man in the 600 block of North Belmont Avenue reported a handgun, valued at $400, taken from the home between 4 p.m. Saturday and 3 a.m. Sunday.
A woman in the 900 block of North Burnett Road reported a GPS unit and a car stereo, valued at $450, taken from a SUV between 10 p.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. Thursday.
A man in the 100 block of North Burnett Road reported a speaker and amplifier, valued at $1,500, stolen from an SUV between 9 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30 a.m. Thursday.
