The excellence award recognizes breast image centers that have earned accreditation in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy and breast ultrasound, according to the American College of Radiology.

“We are proud to be designated an ACR Breast Center of Excellence,” Eisentrager said.
Ohio Valley was one of the first health care facilities in the Springfield and Dayton area to offer 3D mammograms and whole breast ultrasounds.
Dr. Jennifer Daniels, medical director for the Breast Center at Ohio Valley, said the impact of 3D mammograms is making a difference in the community.
“We continue to see the impact this breast care technology is making for the women of our community,” Daniels said. “Working in partnership with our team of board certified, sub-specialty trained radiologists, the Breast Center at Ohio Valley provides patients with the most accurate diagnosis and more timely treatment.”

Champaign County has the third highest breast cancer mortality rate in Ohio, according to the American Cancer Society.
However, according to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer death rates among women have declined by 40% from 1989 to 2016. Much of the progress is attributed to improvements in early detection.
The ACR is a national professional organization serving more than 36,000 diagnostic/interventional radiologists, radiation oncologists, nuclear medicine physicians and medical physicists with programs focusing on the practice of medical imaging and radiation oncology and delivery of comprehensive health care services, according to their website.
